Product Description

4 ounces/113 gram package of - - 100% PURE, WILD & ORGANIC MEDIUM ROASTED ROBUSTA WHOLE BEAN, NATURALLY GATHERED WILD Asian Palm CIVET CAT / KOPI LUWAK Civet Coffee BEANS-- We package in a 4 oz hermetically sealed aluminum foil bag to ensure prolonged freshness -- Where do the Coffee Beans Come From? Nestled in the ancient rice terraces of the Cordillera Mountain range in the Province of Ifugao in North Luzon, Philippines, a Conservation Project is home to wild civets who eat the ripest beans off the organic, shade-grown, rain-forest coffee plants. A 24 hectare civet rescue area of rain-forest within the 40-hectare Julia Campbell memorial park has been established to provide the opportunity for park caretakers and coffee farmers to rescue civets from the black market. The wild civets are then released into the fence-free reserve where they freely dine on as much shade-grown coffee as they like. The beans pass through the civets undigested, but enzymes in the civets' stomachs break down the proteins of the beans resulting in an incredibly smooth, luxurious gourmet coffee. Why Buy From Bantai Civet Coffee? -- 100%PURE, WILD & ORGANIC civet coffee beans! The parks coffee growers encourage local farmers to switch back to traditional organic farming methods. Compost is freely provided to any interested farmers of any crop. NO CHEMICALS ARE USED AT ANYTIME or even in the same drainage of any fields within the Julia Campbell Memorial Agro-Forestry Park. All coffee is SHADE GROWN and Bi-Cropped. This ensures a robust diversity of plants, insects and other crucial elements to a healthy ecosystem. Any expansion of coffee growth is done with minimal impact and NO CLEAR CUTTING and NO MONOCROPPING or NO ERADICATION of INDIGENOUS and ENDEMIC COFFEE PLANTS. - visit us at -- www.bantaicivetcoffee.com - THANK YOU FOR CONSIDERING THIS SOCIALLY MINDED AND DELICIOUS PRODUCT - MARAMING SALAMAT PO!

5Diligent research = good cup of coffee
By PB Coffee Lover
I wanted tp try Kopi Luwak but saw all the negative comments about it. I made diligent research about this particular brand and found our that these coffee beans are not from caged animals. The source's website is actually a rescue preservation area in the Philippines "Special measures have been taken to ensure the survival and healthy existence of the civet population within The Julia Campbell Agro-Forest Memorial Park.

A civet rescue area, a 24-hectare shaded coffee and forest area within the 40-hectare memorial park, has been established to provide the opportunity for park caretakers and coffee farmers to rescue civets from the black market and release them into this rescue area. The park caretakers then allow the civets to dine on as much coffee as they like in this shade-grown, rainforest-covered coffee orchard.

These farmers don’t mind allowing the animal to harvest their coffee crop because the civets leave behind extremely valuable and delicious coffee, which farmers then sell at a price that provides these proud people with a living and an incentive to preserve civets and their habitat. By ordering Bantai Civet Coffee, you too can contribute to the support of the Civet Conservation Project."

I tried it and it makes a good espresso cup, No acidity, very smooth coffee. According to the research of the University of Florida, Kopi Luwak is the cleanest coffee you can find because of the care that comes into its processing knowing that it was digested by the civet.

5DO YOUR RESEARCH. THIS IS NOT A BAD COFFEE GROWER
By Arfman
I just want to know if *any* of you people stating that this *particular* brand of coffee engages in animal cruelty have actually confirmed this through independent investigation. Caging civets is, of course, horrible. This type of coffee's genesis is from harvesting the excrement of wild civets living around coffee plantations. Is it far fetched there can be a legitimate grower that does exactly what it says? Why are you disparaging a company with no proof whatsoever. How about a featured article that talks about this coffee company from the Sierra Club? [...]

Quit slandering companies that are trying to do the right thing! FYI I have no affiliation with Amazon, Sierra Club or Any coffee growing plantation, distributor, etc. I work for an auto insurance company.
